Soooo... hmmm... where was I? O yeah... --- --- continuation 9AM Belle and I would alternate with praying in the Spirit or singing worship songs. We didn't know what else to do. We started getting texts from people, asking for updates of Hannah's condition. "Sorry, no word yet." After what seemed like forever, the doors opened and Dra. Arceo came out. "Great news. Hannah's heart's beating again!" We were so relieved to hear those words. Dra. Arceo then began to explain that they're prepping Hannah to be brought back into the operating room to find and address the bleeding problem. We were given several forms to sign, which we immediately signed. Dra. Arceo described what needed to happen, that Dr. Nicolas was going to look for the bleeders, and that he had to close the holes. After we signed the papers, they wheeled Hannah into the operating room. We were asked to go back to our rooms and to await an update. Market! Mall. Today, however, my view is marred by rain, rain, and more rain. The fog's so think, I can barely see the buildings that are being constructed in Fort Bonifacio. I just couldn't get myself to an internet cafe to write about what we were going through at the time. April 27 Update on Hannah: "Hannah's now being transfered to a private room! Her oxygen tube is off, she can now sustain acceptable oxygen levels on her own. Also most recent xray shows improvement in her left lung. She still has lung fluids and blood infection but doctors are confident in her current condition and very pleased with her progress. We'll need to stay 1 more week in the hospital to complete Hannah's meds then we'll be able to bring Hannah home! An MRI will be done a few months post recovery to be sure. Her left lung is still collapsed, there's fluid build-up, and her oxygen levels go down fast if her 2 tube moved but even with this she's breathing on her own! Doctors will keep her in the ICU to closely monitor her progress. Please do pray for her collapsed lung to work properly, for thee fluid build-up to stop, and for no other complications to occur. Hannah was since confined Thursday morning at PGH. Today, here's what happened: Hannah's last feeding was at 8am, while her last water intake was at 11am. Carlos and Belle were told that they were going to take Hannah by 1pm so they could make the necessary preparations for the operation, which was scheduled to take place by 2. She needed 2 more blood donors. by 10 am, there were 7 people at the hospital ready to give blood. (Thank you so much for such an immediate response.) The operation takes at least 5 hours or more. By 8pm we received word that the operation had been successful. Here's Carlos & Belle's' message: "The first part of the operation is done, they've repositioned the arteries already. They're now working on patching the hole in Hannah's heart. The crucial part of the operation comes after that, when they remove the heart from the machines. Unfortunately, the soonest possible schedule available is April 13 (a Friday). Yes, that's Friday the 13th. And cutting it a bit close to the rough deadline that was set for Hannah's operation. (As i mentioned in our last update, Hannah's operation was temporarily cancelled because of this complication.) Saturday, we went to the doctor to evaluate the results and... The doctor gave a go-signal to reschedule the operation! Her bilirubin levels are actually still higher than what's normal, but it's within the safe range. The doctor was satisfied with the levels she saw. Thank you so much for everyone praying for Hannah. Our doctors are now trying to get the earliest possible schedule for us. Sorry, kinda took a break from everything after being in the hospital. And we finally discovered how to connect to the internet in my mom's place. HANNAH EMMANUELLE H. ANTONIO Ok. Finally got to post this. Hehe sorry for the delay. Erratum... Hannah was born on January 19, not the 17th as originally announced. The operating room wasn't available so we re-scheduled to the 19th instead. Hannah was born at 8:55 AM, January 19. She's a big girl, 8 lbs, 20.5 inches. She looks like her mommy (thank God for that!) and has my feet (we think...). Her hair's very thick for a newborn. The nurse who brought her to us when we finally got her roomed in said she was the biggest baby in the nursery. From the viewing room it was easy to spot her, i just looked for the biggest baby there. Thanks to everyone who prayed for Belle and Hannah. They're both doing well. Special thanks to our OB GYN, Dr. Dana. You're the best. Doc! Hannah Emmanuelle means "favored" and "God with us" respectively.
